Bandell

Dale's paintings are created with an unusual process. He some-times begins by creating another piece of art or prop that is then used in the final painting. The intensity of this process shows in the final work. Greek mythology and 20's flappers are current interests and he sometimes mixes these two subjects.

Dale says, "My art is not just a record of a place, pose or person; but also a visual record of my emotions and interests. I can only hope that my art evokes these same intense emotions in viewers."

Dale lives with his wife, LuAnn, outside Gary, SD in a 1917 Tudor style house. He jokes that the house and landscaping have been his greatest works of art. A perfect place for his two daughters, their husbands and three granddaughters to visit. He says, " I've always been surrounded by women. I wouldn't have it any other way."

Some recent commissions were five paintings for the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and a painting auctioned at the centennial of the Capitol building in Pierre, SD.

Dale is also a woodcarver and has a full-size carousel horse in his foyer.
